Letter from a Portuguese Fan

Hi, Mr. Clark, my name’s Marco Antonio and I’ve been a fan of your oeuvre for more than 22 years (even resorting to watch some of your movies dubbed in Portuguese, no less).
Your site’s great …some things can be adjusted to realize its full potential :some cast/crew  members, throughout the years have enjoyed great success as mainstream performers and/or as cult faves and if mentioned in the pages for each flick could bring lotsa renewed attention to your movies.

-Jeff Altman in RUSSIAN HOLIDAY
-mentioning that the writer of PITCH BLACK cowrote THE RETURN (Ken Wheat)
-Raymond Burr is in the movie and could be mentioned
-The DP (Daniel Pearl) lit the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE
-Actor Jeff Griggs (BABYLON 5 and DAYS OF OUR LIVES costars in MAD DOG COLL)…his porn career notwithstanding
-WACKO was made WAY before the SCARY MOVIE franchise and was Andrew Clay’s feature debut
-Wacko was written by the folks behind STAKEOUT, NATIONAL TREASURE and the live action version of GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE (Jim Kouf)
-FINAL JUSTICE showcased Venantino Venantini, one of Italy’s most popular actors (18TH ANGEL, LADYHAWKE)
-BLACK SHAMPOO is still regarded as one of the most representative pictures in Soul Cinema/Blaxploitation
-PSYCHIC KILLER showcases the very popular Della Reese (TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, PROMISED LAND)
-THE UNINVITED showcases a young Rob Estes (SUDDENLY SUSAN, MELROSE PLACE), and Austin Stocker (AIRPORT 1975, BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES)

Thanks for your attention…MARCO

“Without Warning” Q&A

I have some questions regarding Without Warning:

1. How did the idea for it come about?

A friend, Mike Macfarland, developed the original idea of an Alien hunter.  I took over the project and came up with the idea for the “flying blood sucking frizbees”.  I thought of a human hunter sending his dogs out after the prey and thought an Alien might use something unique.

2. Where was it filmed and how were the locations?

It was filmed in the Los Angeles area - mostly at night.  December and cold.

3. Any problems with shooting?

The fliming was completed on time (three weeks) and budget.  I was lucky to have a great crew - lead by cinematographer, Dean Cundey - and an experienced cast.

4. Any stories to share, funny or otherwise?

Jack Palance and Martin Landau were excellent to work with.  They realized the low budget nature of the project and were able to help in many ways - especially with the younger actors.  It was David Caruso’s first film - inexperienced, but eager to learn.

5. Are you surprised the movie has developed a following and people still enjoy it after all these years?

Not really surprised, but very pleased.

6. What’s one of your fave scenes/sequences in the movie?

I like them all… and wish I could do each scene over and make it better!
